Isabella Curtis
Curtis is a highly talented painter from Brisbane, capturing still-life moments in the iconic classical realist style, which is highly relevant amid the rise of AI and fast-printed, overconsumed art. Her current works are leaning into her natural surroundings for inspiration, which are bringing time-locked, restorative pieces to her collection.

- Isabella Curtis
Isabella is a contemporary oil painter living in Brisbane, Australia. Drawing from her upbringing in rural New South Wales, her work is grounded in a strong sense of place, often depicting landscapes that feel both familiar and immersive.
She began her practice with a series of contemporary still life paintings, exploring the relationship of light and shadow on freshly cut fruit.
Having worked across multiple fields, including as a painter of WWII restoration and reproduction memorabilia and later as a makeup artist, her path to painting has been shaped by a range of experiences that continue to inform her approach.
Her current work returns to landscapes, reflecting on moments of home, travel, and memory.
Materials/Processes:Isabella works with oil paint on canvas, framed in a deep walnut coloured floating frame, which compliments her traditional, yet contemporary style.
“I paint realistically to feel like I’m looking into a window of another world that only I can create.”
